As a Kindergarten teacher, I can tell you something that surprises many parents...

Academic skills are only one small piece of Kindergarten readiness. Children who thrive during those first few weeks of school are often the ones who have learned confidence, independence, emotional regulation, communication and problem-solving skills, long before they ever learn to read.

Ready for the good news?

You don't need a homeschool curriculum.

You don't need hours of structured lessons.

And you definitely don't need to recreate a Kindergarten classroom in your home.

You simply need to know which skills actually matter and how to teach them naturally through everyday life.

Does any of this sounds like you?

You've bought the workbooks.

🌿

You've downloaded the printables. You've searched Pinterest for activities. You've saved Instagram posts you'll probably never find again. And deep down you're still wondering... "Am I actually preparing my child for Kindergarten?"

Your child already knows some letters and numbers.

🌿

But you're worried about the things no one seems to talk about. Will they be able to separate from me without tears? Will they know how to make friends? Can they follow directions in a busy classroom?

You are not

a teacher

🌿

Believe it or not, YOU are your child's first and most important teacher. Let me help guide you into preparing your child for Kindergarten with simple, manageable and highly valuable activities.

 Introducing...

THE KINDERGARTEN READINESS TOOLKIT

A teacher created collection of practical resources that helps you confidently prepare your preschooler for Kindergarten through purposeful play and everyday routines.

Why This Toolkit Works

Everything inside this toolkit is connected.

Each resource builds upon the next. First, you'll discover WHAT actually matters before Kindergarten. Then you'll learn HOW to teach those skills naturally. Then you'll BUILD simple routines that make practicing those skills effortless. Finally, you'll PUT everything into action using engaging challenges, books and play invitations your child will actually enjoy.

It's a complete roadmap

It's not just another collection of cute printables (don't get me wrong, I love a cute printable too!) It's a system that takes away the guessing and the overwhelm you have probably felt in spending hours planning activities for your child. The resources in the toolkit are simple, realistic strategies that fit into the life you're already living.

It was created by a Kindergarten teacher

Who is currently in the classroom teaching Kindergarten (and has been for over 20 years) and knows exactly what children truly need before they walk through those classroom doors.

This Toolkit Is Perfect For You If...

✔ You have a child between ages 3–5.

✔ You want to prepare them for Kindergarten without creating school at home.

✔ You believe children learn best through play.

✔ You want guidance from someone who teaches Kindergarten every single day.

✔ You want practical, realistic strategies that fit into real family life.

Imagine This...

✔ Instead of wondering..."Am I doing enough?" You'll confidently know exactly what skills to practice.

✔ Instead of forcing worksheets constantly, you'll teach through every day moments and purposeful play.

✔ Instead of feeling overwhelmed, you'll have a simple plan you can actually stick with.

✔ And when that first day of Kindergarten arrives, you'll know you prepared your child with the skills that truly matter.

YES!! I Need the toolkit!!

Independence Readiness Skills Checklist

Stop wondering what your child should know.

This teacher-created checklist helps you quickly identify which independence, social, emotional and classroom skills your child has already mastered and which ones you can begin practicing together.

You'll even receive a goal-setting page so you always know what to focus on next.

Social and Emotional Readiness Mini Guide

Many parents focus on only ABC's and 123's, but Kindergarten teachers know that social and emotional skills are just as important.

Inside this guide you'll learn simple ways to help your child:

  • Follow directions
  • Build friendships
  • Manage big emotions
  • Solve conflicts respectfully
  • Build confidence
  • Develop Independence

These are the skills that make the biggest difference during those first few weeks of school.

Kindergarten Readiness Through Every day Routines

One of my favorite resources!

Because here's the truth...

You don't need to add more to your already busy day.

You'll learn how to transform places your're already going (Target, the grocery store, Starbucks, the doctor's office, your kitchen and your car) into playful learning opportunities that naturally build Kindergarten skills. No prep required!!

Preschool Morning Basket Mini Guide

Imagine starting your mornings feeling connected instead of chaotic. You'll learn exactly how to create a simple 10-20 minute Morning basket routine that builds literacy, math, fine motor skills, attention skills and a genuine love for learning.

    You'll also receive:

  • Morning Basket menus
  • Theme inspiration
  • Book recommendations
  • Activity ideas
  • Done-for-you examples
  • AND an AI prompt for creating a simple, 5 day morning basket plan based on any theme your child loves.

Daily Preschool Rhythm Guide

Forget rigid schedules.  Most children thrive with predictable rhythms and routines, not perfectly timed schedules.

This guide helps you build a flexible daily rhythm that works whether you're:

  • A stay-at-home parent
  • A working parent
  • Using daycare
  • Homeschooling preschool
  • Following a hybrid schedule

You'll replace daily chaos with calm, connection and consistency.

Hi! I'm Kayla

Welcome to Hospitality & Grace Classroom! I'm so glad you're here.
I'm a Kindergarten teacher, creator, and passionate advocate for helping families prepare their children for school in a way that feels joyful, meaningful, and manageable.

For the past 26 years, I've had the privilege of teaching young children and 20 of those years have been spent in Kindergarten classrooms-and I’m still teaching Kindergarten today. Because of that past experience and what I’m seeing and teaching in the classroom right now, I know firsthand the skills that help children enter Kindergarten with confidence and set them up for success from day one.

One thing I've learned over the years is this: Children learn best through play. While worksheets and flashcards have their place, the most powerful learning often happens while building with blocks, pretending in a play kitchen, exploring nature, reading together, creating art, and simply engaging in meaningful everyday experiences. That's why I'm passionate about helping families develop important Kindergarten readiness skills through purposeful play at home.

My mission is to take the guesswork out of Kindergarten preparation and give parents simple, practical tools they can use with confidence-whether their child will attend public school, private school or be homeschooled.

At Hospitality and Grace Classroom, you'll find resources designed to help you:

  • Build Kindergarten readiness skills through play
  • Create meaningful learning moments at home
  • Support your child's independence and confidence
  • Make learning feel natural and enjoyable
  • Feel equipped and encouraged as your child's first and most important teacher

Most of all, I want you to know that preparing your child for Kindergarten doesn't have to be overwhelming. Small, consistent moments matter more than perfection. I'd be honored to be a part of your family's Kindergarten readiness journey and can't wait to help you create purposeful play experiences at home that build confidence, connection and a love of learning for your child.
